Premium Beer Pairings

Each pairing includes 250ml (half pint) of beer with 30g of cheese or 50g of meat.

1817 Patent Porter (5.5%) with Alberta Smoked Gouda

A meeting of roast and smoke: the porter’s dry, dark caramel malt character and notes of roasted grain pair with the cheese’s savoury depth, and gentle smoke. The beer dries the palate and sharpens the cheese’s richness, while the gouda rounds the porter’s firmer edges with a mellow, creamy finish. Cheese from Sylvan Star Cheesemakers in Red Deer County, AB.

Grisette (3.5%) with Jambon Bayonne

France’s most famous cured ham, delicately salted and air-dried in the Basque country near Bayonne. Silky, savoury, and subtly sweet, with a gentle nuttiness and a melt-in-the-mouth texture.

$11

West Coast IPA (6.5%) with Comté Symphonie

An elegant French mountain cheese from the Jura region, matured for 14 months to develop a firm, silky paste and a deep, savoury complexity. Rich and nutty, with notes of browned butter, toasted hazelnut, and sweet cream, it finishes with a gentle fruitiness and a long, rounded depth.

$10

Abbey-Style Tripel (9.5%) with Epoisses Berthaut

A protected-name cheese under France’s Appellation d’Origine Protégée, Époisses is one of Burgundy’s most celebrated washed-rind cheeses. Beneath its distinctive rind lies a lush, silky paste with deep savoury character, notes of cream, cellar, and sweet fermented milk, and a lingering, gently spicy finish. Bold, decadent, and unmistakably Burgundian.
